About Commerce & Industry

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is the apex body governing India's domestic and international trade, industrial policy, and investment promotion. It operates through two major departments — the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Department of Commerce — covering everything from SEZ approvals and industrial licensing to FTAs and export promotion.
